Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website saves on a visitor’s device. Almost every site you know uses a great many of them, which is why they bury you in panels to accept.

This page is short, because For Humans uses no profiling cookies. There is no banner to dismiss and you are not asked for consent, for the simple reason that there is nothing to ask about.

What is actually stored

One thing, and strictly speaking it is not even a cookie: your light or dark theme preference, kept in your browser’s local storage. It is there so the site does not greet you with the wrong theme every visit. It stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and disappears if you clear the site’s data in your browser.

For storage of this kind, strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, consent is not required under the applicable rules (art. 122 of the Italian privacy code and the Garante’s guidelines of 10 June 2021).

What about analytics?

The site counts the pages people read with Cloudflare Web Analytics, and that is why this page stays short: that system saves no cookies and uses no browser storage, so it does not fall under the rules that require consent. You are given no identifier and you are not followed from site to site. What gets recorded, and why, is explained in the privacy policy.

What is not here

No advertising cookies, because advertising is not active. No Google Analytics or other analytics cookies. No social buttons loading third-party code. No cookie following you from site to site.

If adverts ever arrive

If the site switches on advertising to cover costs, the position will change: ad networks use cookies of their own. In that case, before any advert appears, you will find the updated list here and a panel on the site to accept, refuse or choose. Refusing will not remove access to any content.

How to clear what is there

You can empty the site’s storage at any time from your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. The only effect will be that the site forgets whether you preferred the light or the dark theme.
